In Greene County district court Marcus Dylan Schmitz, 19, of Perry was granted a deferred judgment April 11 after he pleaded guilty to arson-third degree (amended from arson-second degree) and criminal mischief-second degree. He was placed on probation for two years. On the arson charge, he must pay a civil penalty of $625 and he is jointly and severally liable with a co-defendant for restitution totaling $29,400. On the criminal mischief charge, he must pay a civil penalty of $750. Court costs were $180. (Sentencing: Honorable Adria A. Kester)
Jordan Cheyenne Wiles, 21, of Bayard was sentenced April 8 after he pleaded guilty to a charge of operating while intoxicated (OWI)-first offense, amended from OWI-second offense. He was sentenced to two days in jail and fined $1,250 with a $437.5 surcharge. He must also pay a $10 surcharge for drug abuse resistance education (DARE), $60 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $100 court costs. He must complete a drinking drivers course at a community college. (Sentencing: Kester)
A judgment was entered against Carmen Andrea Andrews, 49, of Grand Junction after she pleaded guilty to a charge of assault-simple, amended from assault-serious. She was fined $100 with a $35 surcharge. She must also pay $120 restitution for her court appointed attorney’s fees and $121 court costs. (Sentencing: Kester)
Paul Leon Renwanz, 48, of Jefferson was sentenced to 25 years in prison after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of possession of more than 5 grams of methamphetamine with intent to deliver. The prison term will be reduced by one-third because of his guilty plea, and the remaining two-thirds will be reused by one-half because of his cooperation in the case. The minimum fine and surcharge were suspended. Renwanz must pay a $125 Law Enforcement Initiative surcharge, a $10 DARE surcharge, and $226 court costs. His driver’s license was suspended for 180 days. A charge of possession of marijuana was dismissed. (Sentencing: Honorable William C. Ostlund)
Regina Fae Renwanz, 42, of Boone was sentenced April 10 after she changed her plea to guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana. She was sentenced to two days in jail. The jail time was suspended and she was placed on informal probation for one year. She was fined $500 with a $175 surcharge. She must also pay a $125 LEI surcharge and a $10 DARE surcharge. Court costs and restitution for her court appointed attorney’s fees were $186. A charge against Renwanz of possession of more than 5 grams of methamphetamine with intent to deliver was dismissed, as well as a companion case in magistrate court in which she was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Phillip Michael Kenoyer, 25, of Grand Junction was granted a deferred judgment after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of criminal mischief-fourth degree. He was placed on probation for one year. He must pay a $125 LEI surcharge and $201 court costs. (Sentencing: Kester)
Mischell Cristen Lampe, 23, of Jefferson was sentenced April 4 after she changed her plea to guilty to two counts of assault on a peace officer, public intoxication-third degree, and one count of assault-simple. She was sentenced to one year in jail on each of the charges of assault on a peace officer, with the terms concurrent. She was fined $315 with a $110.25 surcharge on each of the two counts. She was sentenced to two years in prison, concurrent, on the public intoxication charge, and to 30 days in jail, concurrent, on the assault-simple charge. Court costs were $428.80. A charge of burglary-first degree aiding and abetting was dismissed. (Sentencing: Ostlund)
Persons pleaded not guilty in Greene County district court as follows: Daniel Lee Walker, 36, of Perry, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver; Richard Allen Frye, 33, of Grand Junction, distributing counterfeit marijuana to person under age and child endangerment; and Mitchell David Lyons, 24, of Schaller, OWI-first offense. A trial date of May 13 was set for Frye, and of June 24 for Walker and Lyons.
